Anonymous, 6th century. Half Siliqua (Silver, 14 mm, 0.69 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. Helmeted, draped and cuirassed bust of Roma to right. Rev. Large R. Bendall, Anonymous silver, RN 158 (2002), Type 9. Rare. The flan somewhat wavy and with an edge split and minor punches, otherwise, very fine.


The type 'Roma facing right and R on reverse' is rare, known from around a dozen examples. Several different styles are represented, perhaps indicating several emissions.
